I recall a commercial for the original Mercenaries (by LucasArts) which was very amusing indeed. I'd put that up for nomination.

Not really, GameStop (a diabolic company by the way) has done better commercials.

Does crazy Software Engineering for a living, until he finally musters the courage to start building games for real. Might never happen.

Armed and Dangerous was the one where they spoofed the Hoth Tauntaun scene.  Instead of cutting it open and sticking the guy into the entrails of the critter to keep him warm they rammed him up the thing's ass.  At which point the critter turned out not to be dead and starts running around the snowy field with the screaming guy hang out the rear end.

They're both solid gold gaming quality classics. The upside down bomb was great. As were my little Jetpack aliens :nod:

It was Giants Citizen Kabuto

Both were by the same developers and had a similar style of gameplay/humour so it's pretty easy to understand why you'd confuse them.

I take it none of you remember the commercials that were done for Ratchet and Clank when it first came out?  They were real similar to this one.
