So...I am completely illiterate as far as programing and the like goes so I was curious as to whether or not it would eventually be possible to extract the instrument data to a separate monitor. For example if you were to build a viper cockpit mock-up would it be possible to have a functioning DRADIS display being fed by the game displaying the DRADIS from within Diaspora? I know this is a vaguely ridiculous question but curiosity almost never hurts.

It's been brought up quite a few times before.  The engine really doesn't support multiple monitors other then stretching across them.  It could be added and a few brave souls said they would try only to look at the code and never be seen again. 

So possible yes but it would take code changes that aren't in the plans.  So don't hold your breath.
