Hi guys.

It's not mentioned in the FAQ sticky thread, and a search was forum wide, not specific to Diaspora, so can anyone telll me simply if Diaspora will function correctly with Linux "Mint"?  We have come by a friend's laptop, an nice one, with a broken hard drive.  We replaced the hard drive and are looking at Linux because we don't want to pay Gates £300 for a bug-ridden OS.

Right, so it'll work, but only if you're an awful lot more computer savvy than I am.  Bugger!

mint is a ubuntu baby , and as for difficulty to install i dont thik there will be one , hopefully a new launcher and everything will help with that ..

other than that

Mint > Ubuntu, it has everything ubuntu has + everything it needs.
as for wireless drivers, yeah, linux sucks like that, it makes up for it, but its a pain to set up.

My wife changed her mind about Mint and has installed Ubuntu instead.

I'm glad to hear that there will eb a new launcher so that computer illiterates like me can still play.  We just need to get the wireless working on it now - interesting to see that it's a common prolem with that particular OS.
