ok im a little miffed , yes i was possibly rude or a troll in the irc , but no more or less than anyone else , and yes i did the ultimate sin of questioning goober in irc , and yes i have broken the rules by opening another account but this has to be said ....

i have at no point broken any rules in the hlp forums(except to aid myself in writing this (and i will delete the account afterwards))

yes i called goober out because i felt he missused his powers as an ops in irc , a kick ok but a ban , no ; so i tried to question him , and got nowhere so i accepted his threat , my fault ... so now i am banned from hlp forums , at no point do i see that disagreeing with his opinion is a banable offence ...
this is a community site and yes does need moderation and administrators but it does not need this level of moderating

So, while this may have been a slight overreaction, it was also not unwarranted. Asking to be banned is and always has been a very bad idea around here, and he did just that.
And I would say that the internet lacks <joking> tags, so while common sense says that what c-c said was probably a joke, it was also an extremely bad one to make, especially towards an Admins' or ChOps' face.

That's pretty weak justification though. Until The_E posted his quotes the ban log was the only evidence and that gives no details at all. And apart from spammers there really does need to be a paper trail when banning users from the board in order to prove that it isn't the case of a rogue or over-sensitive admin.

ok a couple of points ,  
1/  i never at any point claimed that any rules did not apply to me ; i tried to find out why i was banned...
2/ trolling through the day , i made very few posts in that day , maybe 4 or 5 on the subject of the " rick roll" affair
3/ asking to be banned ; this can be read in many ways ; from my point of view , it was frustration from not being able to understand how 5 posts across 12+ hours could be counted as trolling;and your refusal to talk about it in any constructive way
