2004 Dodge Intrepid SE 2.7L (bought this in August 2007) just over 50k miles driven with not one hiccup so far - still making the payments

1981 Toyota Pickup - 2.5L 22R  2WD 1/2 ton (got this back in Sept 09...in Dec 09 had to replace the main rear oil seal after finding a growing pool of oil under truck when took cat to the vet...took me 5 quarts of oil to get back home ...had to stop about every 12-15 miles and add a qt....but problem solved and since am making car payments on the dodge....I did the work myself and saved at least 300-400 in the process...and this has given me the confidence to see to any vehicular repairs on my own...largely because there's no way I can afford a mechanic on top of car payments and other bills...aaaaaaand well as long as ALL of my vehicles don't break down, I can take any amount of time necessary to do the work

1978 Toyota Corolla Liftback - got this back in May 05...bought it for 300 but have dumped nearly 1800 into it in repairs because I sent it to the ship to have the work done (at the time an 85 Dodge van I have I was able to use during down time and the mechanic could have problem fixed alot faster than my inexperience could...was driving this up until August 2007 when a rear outer axle seal went....and since the only other working vehicle at home was my van...which the folks were using as the only working transport for them....and since I couldn't afford to miss work days (I was still working PT) I opted to get a new(er) car about 7months sooner than planned.....but now....since this car despite being a money sump always ran even when 1 cylinder blew up a valve...I'm currently seeing to it that it is fixed once and for all...no more pussy footing around.....replaced the 3speed auto in it that even in Park the car could be pushed and put in a 5speed manual from a parts Corolla I'd gotten...and just today put oil pump from parts car in (want to see if that works before considering to pay 100 for a new one) since my oil pressure when engine is at temp would be like 5lb at idle and 20 at speed (it should be 60-80 at that point and 40 at idle) ---- I'd removed the tranny from the parts car last summer and learned quite a bit in the process and helped give the confidence when the truck went down ---- only thing to do for this thing soon as get the money and MAYBE get back the mid-30s mpg the car originally had will be to re-ring it (my dad has experience in this so will coach me so I'll know what to do)

2010 Ford Focus SE Coupe
2.0L, 143HP, five-speed manual, ~6,000 miles

Wonderful car.  I can squeeze it for 40+mpg on my commute during the week, then turn around and rip up the mountain roads in east TN/western NC on the weekend.

A Focus just doesn't strike me as a mountaineering car :p Looks nice though. Considering getting one for myself as a daily driver.  That, or a Prius/Malibu/Accord/Civic/Sonata.

Update on mine too. 1984 Lincoln Town Car limo.  48K miles, currently going through restoration.

There are 3 924s for sale here in St Louis on Craigslist if you want another one.  One as low as $1800.  Goddam if I'd known I could get a Porsche for that price when I was high school I'd have been all over that ****.

Yeah, I wouldn't complain.  Soul is arguably one of the best new daily drivers out there today...gets good mileage (24/30), roomy, extremely safe, and it was a blast to drive when I tested one myself.

Next year the new Focus will come out and I suspect it may be the best new Civic/Corolla/Mazda3/Forte class of vehicle.  Check out the sneak peek's on the Ford website.  It looks stunning too. Worth watching out for if you're shopping for something new.

I stick pretty strictly to paved roads, with an occasional gravel excursion for the hell of it.  Reason I head up into the mountains is because that's where the twisty roads are, and that's where the Focus is mad fun to drive.  Sure, it's advertised as a boring eco-commuter, but the suspension's designed for hard cornering.

To build on what IceFire said, the Focus will be all new in the 2011 model year, including the engine.  Now, the dork in me is all a-twitter over the technology that's being adopted in the new engine, but the consumer in me says you should hold off for a year or two to make sure any bugs get worked out or get a Focus from the '08 - '10 generation.

It's my dad's, but he's letting me have it when I move out for college.  It's not in the best state of repair, but it works as a car.  Blue paintjob1 with chrome on the detailing, wood panelling on the interior2 , upholstered interior3.  Gets around 20 MPG, which is pretty respectable for an old car, especially a gigantic steel one.

1: that's coming off in parts because the people we went to for the last paintjob sucked at it.  Badly.
2: might be fake wood.  Not sure
3: that's coming apart in some places

It works as a car, but it needs some renovation to look really good.  Still runs well, unless it hits a puddle, which shorts something under the hood.  Stops it cold.

Drive a '00 Honda Civic. White. Rediculously easy to lose it in a parking lot.  Awesome little car though.

My dad drives (and usually when I'm on the road I'm riding in) a '92 Honda Civic VX. Driven sensibly, it gets between 45 and 55 miles per gallon, depending on the time of year.
