“Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world”

From the misspelling of the thread title I though you were going to say the Wii was a decent console...

Glad I was wrong though.

17:37:11   SpardaSon21: even the males?
17:37:22   Quanto: its not gay if its an elf

[21:51] <@Droid803> I now realize
[21:51] <@Droid803> this will be SLIIIIIGHTLY awkward
[21:51] <@Droid803> as this rich psychic girl will now be tsundere for a loli.
[21:51] <@Droid803> OH WELLL.

See what you're missing in #WoD and #Fsquest?

[07:57:32] <Caiaphas> inspired by HerraTohtori i built a supermaneuverable plane in ksp
[07:57:43] <Caiaphas> i just killed my pilots with a high-g maneuver
[07:58:19] <Caiaphas> apparently people can't take 20 gees for 5 continuous seconds
[08:00:11] <Caiaphas> the plane however performed admirably, and only crashed because it no longer had any guidance systems

Interesting.

I wonder what version of the soundtrack they'll put in it.

hell.  yes.

the controls might be a little weird though.  i'm guessing the nunchuck for front/side movement, remote will work as a virtual joystick of sorts.  but up and down?

having actually played d2xxl with a wiimote and nunchuck (with glovepie and ppjoy), all i can say is no, **** no.

My preferences for movement:

Joystick - Up, Left, Right, Down
Nunchuck* buttons - Forward & Backward
Wiimote "motion controller" - Turning

No one will do it that way, though.  And if Metroid Prime 3 is any clue, FPS games don't work very well with the system (see: 'STOP LOOKING AT THE CEILING', as well as 'LOOK AT THE CEILING, DAMN YOU'). :/

i haven't played FPS games on wii, but from the others i have played, it seems like it should work fine unless the player is too lazy to keep the thing pointed correctly.

I personally enjoyed them in Metroid Prime 3 and Medal of Honor, you need to invest a little time tweaking the settings to be optimal but once you get use to them I found them pretty fun.

BloodEagle's config is the same idea I had, and I'd think it should work fairly well.  Hell, it has to be far better than playing the PS1 versions of D1 and D2, which didn't even support the DualShock controller. :p

in my test i used the thumbstick for yaw and pitch control and the nunchuck accelerometer allowed for throttle and roll control, while the wiimote accelerometer controlled sliding. it was rather akward.

Yeah, I can't see that working well at all.  Your setup wasn't using the infrared-tracking capabilities though, right?

i tried a few different configs but that one worked best. i tried using nunchuck tilt as pitch and yaw and the joystick as slide, using the buttons on the wiimote to control throttle and roll was controlled by tilting the wiimote from side to side. it worked but was less fun and accurate.

i didnt use the ir camera, because at the time i wasnt sure how to make it work, at least with glovepie.
