Has a Transformers 2 vibe to it, IMO. The asplosions weren't way over the top, but the movie just wasn't as interesting to watch as the first one.

but everyone is going to watch it anyway.
I like to stare at the sun.

I wasn't really that fond of the first one, though I probably shouldn't be saying that around here huh  :nervous:

Shiny special effects.  Reasonably humorous main character.  Utterly stupid plot.  Not nearly enough explosions to be worthwhile.

2/5

Agreed mostly, except for the explosions. There were enough explosions, they just weren't cool to watch! FFS. Whoever directed the movie needs to have coffee with Michael Bay. At least he knows how to make his explosions look cool. :P

:bump:

I liked it.  Had everything I liked about the original, and
Spoiler:
Scarlett Johanson stripping! :D :D :D

Also, I liked the Captain America easter egg
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Transformers 2 vibe my ass. It's exactly the same as the first one, right down to the underwhelming boss battle.

Oh, except this time it intercuts the lame climactic battle with Johansson kicking ass in all kinds of cool ways, so it's better.
I will ask that you explain yourself. Please do so with the clear understanding that I may decide I am angry enough to destroy all of you and raze this sickening mausoleum of fraud down to the naked rock it stands on.

It was a lot of fun! Not quite as enjoyable as the first one, but it avoided sequelitis and villain creep. And of course it had Robert Downey Jr.'s wonderful overacting.

Spoiler:
I disliked the whole 'palladium poisoning' subplot though. It came from nowhere (isn't the premise of the first movie that the arc reactor did NOT have any waste products or consume fuel?) and was resolved out of nowhere (So SHIELD happens to have a short-term drug, and then he fixes it with technobabble? Lame.) If they had to have Tony Stark dying in the subplot, I would have preferred it to be from alcohol poisoning.

Yeah, but then they would have had to fit a battle with alcoholism into the film, and I don't think it would have fit.

It was a great summer blockbuster.  It had everything you would want from such a movie (being realistic here).  There was action, humour, awesome cars, beautiful women and wonderful explosions.  The fact that the characters are so fun and have such great banter and sense of timing makes it all the more enjoyable.  It's not movie making history or worthy of some sort of big award but it was a damn fun movie.  Really really good to go and see when you've had a tough few weeks especially.

Saw the movie just now. It wasn't a revolutionary or evolutionary movie but it was entertaining none the less. You could definitely spend 10€ and two hours worse.

I'll +2 that, since both myself and my wife agree with it =)

You could definitely do worse.

I hear this line a lot. It amuses me that this can be a recommendation. :p

I'll probably have to sit through this one to be sociable, but you won't win. Somebody else will pay for my ticket. >.>

Wow, you're actually using Michael Bay as a positive example? This movie must suck really badly, then :)

It can't be any worse than Michael Bay Presents: Explosions!

I liked Rhode's suit better.  Stark's suit may be more advanced and such, but Rhode's has MOAR DAKKA!
