True, but with movie commentaries you generally also have the option of watching it without the commentary. If there were to be a seperate version with audio commentaries though, while keeping the original-sounds one as is (or with just captions), I'd certainly not object :)

<Cobra|> You play this mission too intelligently.

You simply turn down the other sounds a bit when the directors are talking about a particular scene or event...

I find this more distracting than having the commentator's voice only. Make it either/or, but don't mix them.

You do have the option to play the game or watch this walkthrough.

Lots of mixed opinion....
I think I'll go with Goober's idea if I can find a way to use the captions without ruining it (I hate youtube captions).

3) you don't sound like whoever did the briefing for Derelict SCP.
Wait, what? :(

Nice playthrough!

I deffo vote for keeping the briefings in; This is a complete longplay so saving as much of the content as possible is the way to go. Not many of us here would have the patience to if we did it! :)

Besides, people that don't want to see them can skip, whereas if it was done without the briefings there wouldn't be any way of seeing it.

I like the idea of a commentary, but youtube doesn't allow dual-audio tracks.

You considered making an ogg/mkv version (Xvid or H264?)? Then you could have full resolution, split audio tracks for game sound/commentary, maybe a subtitle-track for the commentary... I wouldn't mind seeding a torrent of it :)

That means learning new software though, I might play around with it at some point but the current routine I have for uploading footage is so easy, almost the entirety of FSPort, and ST:R Subsequently were first-time-play recorded footage that was encoded in ~10 minutes immediately after play, and then uploaded to youtube taking about 20-30 minutes after that.

Also, I really wish the SD Archon wasn't massive damage tagged :<

What do you mean?  You wish it didn't have the "big damage" ship flag?  Why?

Also, you seem to have stopped including a description in your ST:R videos...

Re: It's Finished! (Playthrough of FSPort)
I will do when I get the chance to watch the footage back (that's how I've done them all previously) but I love the last 8 or so missions of ST:R so much that I wanted to get to them ASAP to play them ;D
I have basically been uploading missions while playing the next ones... hehe.
If you were on IRC you'd see some of the comments that are likely to go into the descriptions already though ;P!

I completely forgot about the big damage tag comment.
Yea, I hate it a great deal in FS2, and in FSPort/ST:R I really appreciate that ships are/should be exempt from that tag, to me it basically destroys the gameplay on assault missions, and you will see why when you watch the vid of mission 18 ;P

Funny thing... ChatZilla hasn't been working recently; it refuses to connect.  Dunno why.  I'm going to use Mibbit for the time being.

Mmm.  Yeah, we had intended to disable that flag for the ST:R missions.  Unfortunately, by the time we transitioned from version 2.3 to version 3.0 of the Port, most of the ST:R missions had already been FREDded, and we found that using FS1 big-damage behavior would completely throw off the balance.  We opted against rebalancing all those missions yet again.  Fortunately, the FS1 missions didn't suffer from that problem (as they had naturally been balanced for FS1 behavior) so the FS1 missions have the big-damage behavior disabled.
