Light at the end of the tunnel...
Hey all, I can now see the light at the end of my army reserves tunnel, and boy, is it bright! HLP's been growing exponentially (well, maybe not _that_ fast.. :p ), and I'll have a heck of a time catching up on everything I missed... :doubt: Oh well.

Anyways, I should be out for good by Wednesday, with a weekend camping trip afterwards. Next week I'll be able to resume spamm-err.... posting consistantly again. :D

Real Life™ has been awaiting me for the past 2 months as well, so I don't know exactly how much time I'll be able to spare for HLP. However, it looks like my job will be moving into an office-based situation, as opposed to me working from home. This will actually be nice, as I'll be able to have nicely-defined times of work and HLP. Sleeping, eating and living can all be squeezed in wherever there's room (:ha: ) :p

I'll try to post some of the better pics I took from the past two months - some of them are cool. :)

Here's to civvie life!

Oh - here's a pic I just had my dad take of me at home - and yes, my room is a BFMess. :D ;)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Dude, it's been way too long. After Jed wipes the floor with you on Renegade (;)), come back to us quick - this place has been like a ghost town without you, man. :)

* looks around at the glaring faces of the rest of the HLP *

Uhh, Mike, I gotta run... send my regards to the boys... ;)

I must say, my room is especially messy now, since I've been living in it for 2-3 day periods at a time for the past 2 months... it'll be getting a good clean-up once I get the time/motivation. :D

No fair, you got to take you're weapons home with you?! Here we weren't even allowed to hold them during freetime unless we were going out on exercises! :D And you're room is a palace compared to mine! Trust me, Think of a room, filled with loose paper, old clothes, and a loose ferret re-arrangeing it every 5 mintues and stealing all you're socks. The reason why I call it the "Cave"! :D Anyway, it'll be great having ya back!

You'd make a very lenient CO.

Am i the one around here with a clean, ordered room?

Sandwich, know anything about a Merkava with a small autocannon instead of a turret? I dont think its a Merkava but it just looks like one and is a IFV.

Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Zeronet: Autocannon? Like a Vulcan or something? Not on a Merkava, but we have vulcans mountd on APC's (they don't act as personel carriers anymore like that...) - our mobile anti-air defense. :D

RoachKoach: Yeah, we "still" use them - they're only the world's best desert MBT. :p We also use a much-modified British Centurion variant - we're up to Mk. 7 on those variants. :) They're ok, but not as good as a Merkava.
