Hello everybody

That's my first time writing here and my English is as bad as.... well.... please try to bear my writing... grammar and those things, you know xD

I've downloaded WiH 2 days ago and for those 2 days i couldn't get WiH working. The newest AoA Directors Cut version is already on my PC and I've got no problems playing through the whole campaign. So, as you can guess, I've got the mediavps 3612, the launcher 5.5f and the fs2 open 3.6.12 Inferno as well.

My problem occurs right in the moment i run the mod. (My PC tells me there "You've just got some errors, haha".....) If i press all "ok" buttons (3 error messages occur) i get by fs2 itself about 138 errors.... and have to leave the game, no matter what button i click..... Ha.... That sucks the most, i wanna play.... ^^


Well, that's how it is. AoA likes me, but WiH not.


What you perhaps want to know:

Windows XP
Radeon 4850 graphic card
Athlon 64 X2 processor
3 GB RAM

Move all the stuff in your 'Mods' folder out into the main FreeSpace 2 directory.

You should end up with a blueplanet, blueplanet2, and mediavps_3612 folders right in /FreeSpace2/.

Yep, that's the cause of this error. In the future, take this lesson to heart: Unless you know exactly what you are doing DO NOT deviate from the installation instructions.
And no, unless you know how to rewrite the mod.ini, you do NOT know what you are doing.

Damn... didn't pay that much attention to this sentence, cause i always put my mods in one folder and since AoA or an other mod didn't cause any error because of this i thought there must be some other issue.

So... ehrm.... well, sorry for the extra post, but thanks for your fast answers =)

The problem is, you see, that WiH needs AoA installed exactly as described in the install instructions. if you alter the install paths, the engine can't load all the data required to play WiH.
