Episode II bomb idea.
Hey everybody... long time no visit... but I just thought of something... and maybe you've already thought of it.

Seeing yet another ad for Episode II, I watched again how much I think it's cool that those missles do those loops before hitting their target (in those big battle clips).

Well now I just thought of why (other than the cool effect) they would do that. With futuristic advanced technology, any missile traveling in a straight line is just begging to get shot out of the air--right? I mean even in the FS games you've got that little leader to show you where to shoot. So, the missiles loop and loop in order to make it harder for them to shoot down.

Now, apply that to FS. Has anyone tried to put the corkscrew tag (from the Tornado) onto bombs like the Cyclops and Helios (and even the Trebuchet since it can get shot down)? I wonder if it will work, what it would look like, and if it helps them from being shot down?

And of course I ask first before trying, because I don't know when I'll get time to play around with it for myself.

Joe.
No, he's not back for real, just popping his head in to say "hello" while on break from classes.

Joe! Dude, it's been ages! Welcome back. :)

I've added the corkscrew tag to bombs before, just to see how it works. :) Indeed, they do twirl about, but they don't deviate enough to avoid being taken down by flak. AAA and pulse turrets I'm not sure about it. :)

because, though they are harder to hit, they stay in the air longer, giving you more time to hit them.
