What's going on here? When I stop to rearm my wing men swarm around me and crash into me. Sometimes they block the support ship and it's a little annoying. Is this what Ubuntu is all about?

Yeah, I hear ya. I got killed crashing into these guys.

Pawns on a board of bone right? I think it's because gunships are so large,  the AI does not know what to do with themselves. You can't give em orders to scram eather.  Be nice if they had orders to cover the AWACS instead of you or something. As long as you are moving, they won't fly into you. The best thing you can do is accelerate at about 10 m/s and come to a hault, hopefully the support ship gets to you before they do.

It's an issue I am sure they are aware of though.

it happens frequently with Uriel Gunships, especially on a "guard me" or "follow me" order. Don't even need to call support most of the time

Yeah we've been trying to patch this stupid behavior for some time. It happened in AoA with bombers, too. The problem seems to be that you can't actually give a 'form on my wing' command in FRED, and the 'stay near ship' order seems hilariously broken.

We can probably drop a fix in next time we patch.

this has been happening to me since retail.  even when i give the "**** off" order sometimes the AI refuses and tries to buttrape my fighter instead.

I think I got rammed to death by the grouphug once.
At least, I lost like 20+% of my hull integrity...
