a few more noob questions
Hi Everyone,

I've started playing this and it's awesome. Two quick questions. I have a Wingman Strike Force 3D joystick with a slider. How do I set the slider to adjust my speed. No matter what I do I can't figure it out.

Also, for some reason, I don't think I get force feedback. Any Ideas?

Lastly, playing through the freespace port, I get an option to select the STR campaign without changing the mod to STR? Is that by default or is this some other campaign?

Thanks again!

Re: a few more noob questions
With my Logitech I set forward throttle to keystroke "A" and throttle back to keystroke "Z". Then at the start of the mission I tap the " [ " key so when the throttle is between forward and back my speed is set to 1/3. This is the way I have found to adjust speed with the throttle slider.
Did you hear that fellas? She says I have a Meritorious Unit.

Re: a few more noob questions
Set the slider axis to absolute throttle.
I don't know how Wingman Strike Force 3D differs from regular Wingman Force 3D, but this works for me.

Re: a few more noob questions
Hang on, sorry, I'm really confused. My slider is exactly that, it's a little thing that slides at the base of my joystick. How do I set the slider axis to "absolute throttle". Even more, what does keystroke "a" or "z" have to do with the actual slider...

Sorry if it's a dumb questions...first time I've played a space sim since Microsoft's Allegiance...

Plus any news on the force feedback?

Use the in-game options menu. In the mainhall, press F2, then click on "Control Options"

Then, go to ship controll options, double click on "absolute throttle" and move the slider.

And for the Force Feedback, I think you need to tick the "enable force feedback" option in the "audio/joystick" panel of the launcher. I don't have a Freespace installation handy at the moment, so those might not be the exact labels, but that's the general idea.

While this is true I am obligated to point out that the original Silent Threat sucked really bad, STR blows it away......
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside
