And to one-up the South Africans in cheapness... you should make them out of cardboard and THEN claim that they are culturally relevant part of Australian football.

One catch, Didgeridoos are notoriously hard to play. From memory, it involves breathing out with one's mouth whilst inhaling through the nose. Or something like that.

Wiki'd traditional Russian instruments and they all look a little to complex to be the next Vuvuzelas, mostly string instruments and flutes.  The only one that really looks simple enough to mass produce and use is the Treshchotka, but really all that would probably do is amplify the the applause.
