Have you even looked at the newest ones, particularly the ones I mentioned?  Yeah, a small minority of them are round shiny bull****, but so is a small minority of Gen I/II.  The rest are passable and/or ****ing awesome.

Zapdos was probably my favorite, though Gyarados and Steelix were kind of cool general concepts. Slowbro was amusing to me for its Gen-I Amnesia-buff potential to simply outmuscle/out-tank Mewtwo(as long as it didn't have any kind of electric attacks, anyway).
