Homeworld has facinated me ever since I purchased it:  4 weeks ago.  I have been wanting to bring the ships to Freespace 2 and make all of Cataclysm's 17 missions from a first-person perspective, and Freespace 2 is the ultimate way to do it.

I have OK modding experience.  I read a few manuals and succeeded in converting several models from the old flight-sim "Hellbender".  I'm currently using 3D Exploration and Truespace 4.2 to convert Homeworld models into Freespace models.

As a gift to TAP for my membership in the community, I will offer the Taiidan Heavy Interceptor and the Taiidan Heavy Cruiser will full LODs, debris, and turrets completed within the next month.

Got the inty, but I'm not sure about the HC.  Ask Thorn, but all things considered, if this guy did can do what he claims then he'd be quite useful to the convertion side of the project in getting things ported over much faster.

It's not personally up to me and I'm not totally sure of the situation in regards to members already (if we have enough or the guys want some help) but it would help to have the extra set of hands.

Well, we have the Interceptor already, though it's unlodded(we're not really going to need LOD:s, HW models are amazingly low poly) it would of course be nice if you did them.

We sorta have the HC too, but I'll tell you, it's a pain in the arse. Namely the turrets. As you probably know, FS2 must have all turrets normals pointing directly up or downwards. Now, imagine HC:s turrets pointing upwards(both the barrel AND the base).

So if you can make it work and look good, I'm amazed. Still, it's always worth a try

HC's don't have barrels... not visable ones at least.  There is just the main turret and then the textured 'opening' for the internal piviting barrel (which doesn't exist out side of the textures).

So if you really must have a 'barrel' then add it but make it invisible and untextured.  Just a thought
