Problems with 2+ turrets...
Basically, my problem is that 99% of the time, FS2 / FRED2 crashes when I glue   on 2+ turrets to the hull object.   I have got a working (single) turret before, so I'm sure it's not anything to do with gluing.  The crash occurs with the sub-objects defined as and not defined as turrets.  The poly count is under 800 for the whole thing, although I'm getting wierd duplicated sub-objects as a result of the gluing process (i.e. 7-8 blank sub-objects at the top of the heirarchy, before the hull sub-object).

If anyone can give me a reason for this, or is willing to supply a turreted cob for me to compare it to, please post back.  alternatively, I can make the scn files available for someone to help me.  Cheers for any help offered  

(I apologise for asking a lot of related questions recently - I promise if I can sort this it will be the last stupid newbie question - for at least a week   ).

I did... actually, it seems to work fine if I glue the turrets as sibling    

Got it all working now   (still to turret, etc); but only if I glue the LODs as sibling.  Strange....

I've had the same experience. The only time that modelview seems to recognize the hierarchy properly is when I glue everything as sibling. If I glue as child then I get an extra ghost subobject for every turret, but as sibling seems to make them come out normally.
If it aint broke, break it!
