The latest issue of the UK mag PC Gamer has done its top 100 best games ever in order and they have listed Freespace 2 as number 28! it was 72 last year. So FS2 is ranked above the gaint games like Mass effect 2 42, Grand theft Auto 4 100, BioShock 34, Fallout 36, System Shock2 30, Doom 41, Crysis 78 and Starcraft 86. It even beats Dragon age Origins at 40 which i think is bloody amazing and still shows how much it is loved.

Nah its the issue with the world exclusive of Deus Ex human revolution, witcher 2, and Dawn of War Retribution reveal of 6 campaigns. Feb 2011 issue 223. I don't have a scanner but this is what it said.

"Atrociously overlooked when released, Freespace 2 is not merely a space sim masterpiece, but also one of the best written games ever. Geniune introspection is proffered in between space battles of a monstrous scale. Never has a game exceeded expectations so imperssively."

I think that is a nice tribute, but there was no mention of SCP, but i think PC Gamer have mentioned Blue Planet,  Wih a couple of issues ago. Should maybe write to them and re-inforce the exsitance of SCP and large Freespace community.

Yeah i know, i find it funny that a lot of the modern/newer games are nearer the bottom, well no i am not surprised a lot of the newer games try so hard on graphics, story whatnot that they forget to do important thing, make the game fun to play! I am glad freespace 2 is high up the list as its fun and still is fun to play and it is a masterpiece that didn't get the love it should have from interplay because of the crappy Klingon Academy ( that's the crime).

Never the less i have written the PC Gamer UK and told them to come here and have a look at the SCP, Blue Planet, Derelict, TBP, Inferno, transcend and all the other great mods and campaigns here, wether they do it i don't know but i hope they do.

Ok, not to go all fanboy (since I suck at the entire genre) but starcraft 86? Crysis Beat it out? Fallout 3 by a mile?  just the games you posted suggest a large rpgfps bias.

For some reason PCGamer praise Supreme Commander 2, i don't know why the game was a load of gob****e, heavily bugged, dumbed down and unit pathing was a nightmare. But i have got PC gamer for a long time and i rarely see FS2 mods mentioned in the mag
