Don't know quite what to make of it. Civilian or some type of recon ship, or what.
Ideas?

Great mesh, I can't pick any flaws with it at all
My guess is it should be a colony ship. Don't ask why, I just think it looks like one :p

Hmmm...a proper science/explorer ship maybe. Fast and lightly armed; moderately tough. Or a colony ship as said above. I like. ;)

Thats pretty damn funky

With the big engines sticking out, i think it looks built for speed like an interceptor, not really like a civilian ship.

Asuming it was designed from freespace, i think it would make a pretty cool missle cruiser.  Fast and manuverable for a cap ship, fires lots of Pirahnas and Tornadoes, has a few cyclops torpedoes on board incase it comes across another cruiser, but generally aviods bigger ships.  Its something i've been wanting to design but i dunno how to make ship models sadly.

Wow, that ship looks even more cool now.  The second picture down is the best.

The first thing that strikes me when I look at that, Ryx, is that the front end looks like s Star Trek Original Series Klingon Bird of Prey bridge. The rest of the ship looks like its just a step away from being an interceptor. Changing the aft end to include two or three thrust cones would complete the image.

What I would do is change the front end a bit, to make it more like that groovy destroyer you did before. That would show a relationship between the ships. Either way, its a kickass cruiser. I'd love to see it in game.

My first thought (I saw the picture from below first) was that it looked like the wings were cut off. :) It does resemble a Klingon D-7 battle cruiser with cut off nacelle wings. From an FS2 viewpoint it looks like a light cruiser to me. Designed to be deployed quickly and to be able to get to the scene of the battle quicker then some of the older cruisers. Looks to me like it needs some more detailing. (I love making models with Deimos style "cuts" in them. Like the Valiant, partly 'cause it's not too hard to do with Wings3D. :))

Hmm... yes, the front bit does have a trekkish look to it. I'll see about changing that. Might as well look into putting more thrusters (see mik's post) on there as well. ;)

I gotta agree with the Bird of prey/battlecruiser similarity.

However I also think it looks a bit like the drone kamikazi ships from the Star-Wars Books.

The very large front end is nothing but armor plating, give it a bunch of under-powered cannons so the ship actually -looks- like an important cruiser/destroyer/freighter at least...

Let a heavy cruiser or battle ship come close and the thing will turn around, let the nose (where it has a lot of armor and mass) swing around, fire up the engines and kiss that cruiser goodbye.

But at any rate for it's own merit, a missle cruiser sounds REALLY good to me.  That front end would be a logical (kinda) place to put a bunch of launchers and their payloads.  The rest of the ship has that long bow to keep them relatively away from any unexpected explosions, maybe give them time to hit the escape pods.

the last three look like a turtle with a really big head.
i'm probably unqualified to give an opinion, but it looks unbalanced- the middle bit could snap so easily.
(btw, turtles are cool. comparisons to turtles are a good thing.)

Nah, i prefered the old model, it looks out of perspective being longer now, and if its going to have 4 engines the ones on the bottom should be as big as the ones on the top.

Trekkish??? Oh, well, maybe a weee bit of a warbird, but it reminds me a lot more of the Star Wars Eclipse.

And the updated version is
