Although, seriously, Thrace is a really awesome surname. Fits with just about anything. Go for Thrace.

You should change your surname to display any virtue or quality you want your offspring to uphold. Or mabye a description of one of your own traits.

Emerald Personality-Disorder doesn't quite have what I'm going for...

I'm leaning towards Thrace, because I do like the way it looks and sounds with my first name. It does have the issue of being a popculture reference, and I already graduated from The Baltar Institute for Girls, so...

Bottles is just because I like the word. I think it'd make a cute nickname, and I could justify asking people to call me Bottles if it's my last name. :P I like my first name well enough, but it feels weird and alien to be called by it or any of the shortened forms people tend to use... dunno why.

I suppose the shortened form would be "Em", which is also a commonly used short for "Emily", so it isn't all that uncommon.  In fact, you could do a play on that and whenever someone calls you "Em", follow it up with a lame James Bond reference or something.
