If no one has called it yet, I would like to do the astaroth.

One of the ugliest and most nonsensical designs ive ever come across.
Id like to try and make it better, here's what i have so far.

I think that you should stay closer to the retail. I also think that you should change this to a completely new Shivan because i like it very much.

Yes, forget about the Astaroth, your Shivan-thing's got that evil look but definitely not Astaroth like.
Still I like the shape very much, keep on it.

Astaroth is already worked on by INF team.
I suggest you to rename this one and keep working on it, we need custom HTL Shivan fighters.

Our Astaroth WIP was rejected by the Community, so we handed it over to BrotherByron to work on it in order to prioritize other things needed by our project.

Nevertheless, your design is good and can and should develop into its own line of Shivan fighters.  Work on the neck and cockpit a bit more, and you'll have something quite nice indeed.

Could you develop both designs?
I like them both and community is really short of custom HTL Shivan fighters.
You could even develop an entire line of next-gen HTL Shivan strikecraft, it'd certainly be appreciated by the community.

Ill do my best. Im trying to put together a portfolio for university so, while im definately developing this one, other ships may get reassigned as side projects.

However  it is still too early to tell at this stage, because ive been playing freespace for about 12 or so years now. So its unlikely that there wont be more ships in future.

A bit more about this ship, though, Ive been thinkin of  it in terms of a Shivan Valkyrie.
Really  fast but not  as manouverable as a Dragon or a Ulysses.
Also, the spiked arms are in fact where the laser cannons are mounted (at the tip at least, like a Sathanas only its not a beam)

How about adding a bit aft of the central pod.  Take those pods on the sides that the pylon support struts come out of, and sweep them back perhaps slightly more than the length of the pod itself.

Id like to get your thoughts on it before I start into modelling proper.

And yes I have only done one wing on the concept because I only needed the ideas and the other wing was at such a steep angle you wouldnt have been able to see anything anyway.
