**** guns, and **** violence! If it were up to me, I'd send every single fire arm to the damn moon! I've seen what guns can do, and it really aint pritty. And whats with this whole "guns don't kill people, people do" thing? Well, I could just as well say "Guns don't kill people, bullets do!" And if people are really worried about people coming into their homes, why don't have a baseball bat? Or a better security system? And think about it this way, what happens if the burglar find you're gun? Or what if you shoot the person who came in to rob you? You might call it self defence maybe, but trust me, it won't be any good, cause you'll be stuck with the thought that you've actually killed someone. Trust me, people do not need guns, for any bloody purpose. Think of it logically, what is the true purpose of a gun? (I'm not talking about hunting rifles, cause they have a purpose, although I don't see why people need to have to urge to go out and kill something like a deer, elk, or moose. Maybe the thought of killing exites them... The only place I would think rifles should be allowed would be up north where there are bear hazards, and theres no other way to stop an invading bear than to pop one in the skull. )
If you think about it, there is no real purpose in owning a gun exceot for maybe having some sort of machismo ego problem ,where you think owning a gun makes you feel that much cooler. Like my friend. He owns a gun, a glock 17. I ask him "Why'd you buy a gun?" he said "Cause I want one. Anyway, I'll use it in a shooting club." Ok, whoopee. So he goes and spends
of money on a piece of metal that he can only use in a shooting gallery? In which, by the way, had a horrible shooting spree 3 years back when a woman decided to go in there a kill couple of people. Anyway, he's stopped going there now, and his lovely gun is collecting dust on his shelf. A potential hazard for god knows whom. I know, that you have to be responsible whne owning a gun, but for christ sakes, people are people. We always screw up every now and then.
So all in all, guns are pointless, useless and dangerous. It gives you a false sence of security and thats all.
On another note, this whole thing about blaming video games and movies for teenage violence in the States is ludicrous. I'm pritty sure everyone agrees "most" of those school shootouts and teeange violece can be led back to bad upbringing. Looking at the laws from another country, its quite funny how the law system in the US considers it's people so stupid. Do they really think that if you're under the age of 18 or 21, that when you buy a game and play it, that you'll be totaly propelled into thoughtless acts of violence? Oh well, I'm a realist, and I know that there'll always be violence in the world, people will always blame it on something. However guns have contributed to more deaths than ANY other forms of death in history. "Guns don't kill people, people WITH guns kill people."
BTW, I'm having a dreadfull hangover, so that probably why I'm in a bad mood...
