ive been playing a lot of hackvision games on my arduino (i dont use the hv hardware), which had only supported very retro games like pong asteroids and tetris.

now there is gameduino, which is in the form of an arduino shield with an fpga based graphics/audio processor. which is pushes graphics capabilities up to a 16 bit era equivalent game system (despite running on an 8 bit mcu). its only a matter of time before we have open source game consoles that can outperform commercial consoles.
