Recently I discovered that Discovery, a mod for the game Freelancer, features an unofficial player group called the Neo-Terran Front. I myself have never played Freelancer yet, and I'm ignorant of what this really means (just what is an "unofficial player group"?). Anyways...

The Neo-Terran Front exists for the purpose of, eventually, building one or more sleeper ships and escaping Sirius altogether. The idea is that at least a part of humanity will survive and thrive if disaster strikes Sirius. The NTF's ideology touts the concept of Neo-Terra, a new homeworld that would echo the lost grandeur of Earth and become the new cultural and economic center of humanity.
But they were determined in their goal, laid out by their surviving leader, Ian Bosch, to build that Sleeper Ship; to create a new Eden in another system, or if they dared to hope, another galaxy.
Finally, the NTF has long-term plans to construct at least one Sleeper Ship, and preferably as many as they can put together. The first will be named the Iceni, but it has yet to even reach the design stages, much less actual construction.
]NTF[-NTSV-Hinton - The NTSV Hinton was a Zoner Conference class gunboat. Once the personal vessel of a Zoner of Rheinland origin, the Hinton was purchased by Robert Crompton, a Bretonian freelancer who later defected to the Front. Used primarily for research and diplomatic missions, the Hinton was destroyed attempting to protect other NTF vessels fleeing Kansas.

]NTF[-NTGB-Undaunted - The Undaunted was the sole surviving vessel of the Neo Libertonian Front division of the LSF. It carried the handful of dreamers and idealists who would go on to revive the dream of Neo Terra or die trying to their salvation. Rescued by the Order and having undergone patchwork repairs after limping from Alaska, it served as the mobile HQ of the Neo Terran Front for a little over a year, until the Cassus Belli was acquired. Upon the signing of the Front's pact with the Legion, the Undaunted was towed off to be used for spare parts in return for three Bayonet class fighters and three Broadsword class bombers.
-I'm not sure what the Undaunted really was, but I believe it was a Leviathan-class cruiser you're supposed to destroy in the mission where Mjolnirs and a Vasudan Typhon destroyer are present (NTF ships are trying to flee, and the Undaunted is one of them, I think).
The NTF possesses a Heavy Lifter, the NTUV Faustus. It is used for moving large items and asteroids around, and for conducting ongoing repairs to the Belisarius.
It is VERY LIKELY that this was a reference to FreeSpace and that it was created by FS fans.
