I was wondering when someone from HLP would find this.
The FS references were very deliberate. But at no point did we say "we wound up here from the FS universe" or anything of the sort. Nor did we import any ships.
The NTF was more of a random hodge-podge of ex-pats from various factions, who banded together to try to build a sleeper ship. We also took over the Kansas system for a while, and had a number of very interesting encounters.
At this point on Disco, the NTF is defunct. We had a good run, but a fair number of the more influential admins have long been deeply hostile to non-canon factions. It became very frustrating and put a major damper on the efforts we put into trying to become an official faction with our own diplomacy.
Because of the increasingly strict rules surrounding ID's, we were pretty much unable to do our roleplay without either breaking the rules somehow, or being absorbed by another faction (and thus being forced to all but abandon our storyline).
Nonetheless, it was fun.

Anyway, Hellstryker and a bunch of other current and former Disco-ites (myself included) are working on a mod called Neo-Terra, with a mess of new content (including a new plotline, new system map, and new ships). Have a look at a video of an early alpha build
