Am i right you still post requests here? (If not feel free to move this to wherever it should go).
Would it ever be feasible to give a coder or FREDer any control over how a ship (or possibly even a specific class of ship) behaves when launching from specific fighterbays on another ship, so it is different to the standard forwad-facing launch? So for example you could have a ship 'drop' out of a bay (like in Starlancer when your fighter launches from the Reliant) or coming out in odd directions (such as in homeworld 2 when a destroyer leaves the Mothership's main bay facing upwards and rotates after launch).
My main reason for asking is for an idea i had of a T-V war period carrier which carried its own transports, the transports dropping down belly-first from a special ventral bay (while facing the same direction as the carrier), though another prospect is a ship with a rear bay that 'throws' fighters out backwards so it can deploy them mid-warp slowdown (if most ships try this at the moment, fighters move through the capital's model and are left behined). Homeworld conversions might find this of use too.
But yeah, wanted to run it by the coders to see if they thought it was feasible. Thanks for your time.
