So, I recently watched the FS2 Open trailer and thought it was incredibly awesome. I downloaded it and converted it to an .ogg file named fsopen.ogg. I tried to set this as my opening cinematic by editing the cutscene table to have the introduction set as fsopen.ogg. When I load a game with this new cinematic, it sits there with an hourglass symbol for a split second, then it goes to the regular intro cinematic. I'm thinking that due to that hourglass symbol it was trying to load the other one then defaulted to the normal cutscenes.tbl file for some reason. Does anyone have any idea why it would not be working? I would like to try to solve this issue because I would like to have custom cutscenes for the campaign I am developing.

Post an fs2_open.log. That should help us sort things out.

Also, note that fsopen has rather severe difficulties playing back HD cutscenes. You're really better off downloading the modpack and watching that trailer in real-time.

Hmmm... that could be the problem right there, it was taken from an hd quality video. What modpack are you refering to?

The one mentioned in the first post of the trailer thread.

Hmmm. I somehow missed that. Thanks, I'll go check it out again.

Also, it's easier to just name it intro.ogg and put it in FreeSpace2\data\movies. That way it will override the regular intro without a need to edit cutscenes.tbl.
