Hello HLP!
I would like to announce that my previous WIP campaign, called The Pirates of Yore, is now being remade as a semi-comedy machinima! Initially when I first started working on it, I wanted to make story the primary emphasis. However, this didn't really mesh well with the whole campaign thing, seeing as gameplay realistically needed to be a priority. So, I decided to try something different and remake it into a machinima!
I have applied for project hosting here on HLP, but whether or not that gets approved I need your help. This is a big job, and I can't do it alone. You may be surprised to learn that I am not looking for FREDders...yet. Before FREDding begins, other things need to get done, such as script writing and VA. So whilst I will be searching for FREDders in the future, right now TPOY is looking for the following positions:
EDIT: This position has been filled.
Writer - Now, I'm no writing genius. I'm going to need someone to proofread my scripts and suggest changes, making sure they're succinct, the characters are consistent, the events that transpire are interesting, and most importantly that TPOY is actually funny. The hired writer will greatly influence the project, so this is a role not to be taken lightly. Previous writing work would go a long way in improving your chances for the position. You don't have to be professionally accredited (we can't all be godlike writers like Battuta), but you have to have done it before. The writer will eventually develop to be almost a co-leader: being so familiar with the universe to be created, the writer will be able to make informed decisions and partially fill in the gap for the rest of the team if I should temporarily have to decrease involvement. The writer must have good general knowledge of the FS universe, and be able to use that knowledge to come up with jokes, running gags, plot devices etc that can be used throughout the episodes.
Website developer - a requirement for HLP hosted projects is a website. The website developer will simply create and update this website as the project develops. If you have other skills that can be used later on in the project (such as FREDding) that would be awesome as we'd be able to merge positions.
VA manager - Since VA will be a crucial part of the project (text based dialogue isn't really gonna work in a machinima), I'm starting the search for a VA manager right from the start. The manager will be responsible for modifying scripts as needed into formats for use by voice actors, posting these scripts on relevant sites and managing and keeping track of auditions. After a mutual decision has been agreed to regarding casting of actors, the VA manager will be responsible for sending out the lines to each actor, receiving, editing (if necessary), storing, and keeping track of the lines to be used.
More positions will be posted as time goes on. Feel free to either post here or PM me if you would like more information or would like to apply.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
