Mike Kulas retires from Volition
Mike Kulas, the founder of FreeSpace developer Volition, Inc. (and co-founder of Descent developer Parallax Software), is stepping down as president of the company after 15 years at its head.  Without :v:, none of us would have a reason to be here, so here's a 21-beam salute to the man who made it all possible.  Thanks for all your hard work, Mike, and best of luck in your future endeavors!

Now, we must ask ourselves...

...How can the SCP get Mr. Kulas to join the project.

Good luck to Mike, with whatever he chooses to do.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Some people are like Slinkies.  They aren't really good or even useful for anything but they always manage to put a little smile on your face when you give them enough of a push down the stairs.

Re: Mike Kulas retires from Volition
Mike was not only the founder of Volition, but also the lead programer for FS1 and 2, the latter being his final programing job before assuming full responsibilities as CEO.  This man didn't just give the community the source code, he IS the source code.

/salute

Re: Mike Kulas retires from Volition
I can see it. He'll do the retirement thing for awhile then start to get bored and get an itch to work on something. Why wouldn't he find his way here and work on one of his greatest games? How much golf can you take? :p
Did you hear that fellas? She says I have a Meritorious Unit.

Let me say that he has shaped my life and I wish him good luck for the future and stuff because he is an excellent man

Re: Mike Kulas retires from Volition
Hope to see more of him soon, and I definitely agree that I'd like him to be part of the SCP team here at Hard-Light. It is his home. ;)

You do know that that is, like, completely unlikely right?

Re: Mike Kulas retires from Volition
Of course it's unlikely, but crazier things have happened. We just shouldnt forget to send a message his way in a few months or so. ^^
