So the take-away from all this as far as I'm concerned is this: the Bible's overt statement that "no man knows the day or hour" totally trumps the guesstimated historical numerology nonsense this guy was extrapolating from. Big surprise there.

As funny as it is that his prediction was false.. I'm actually pretty angry at him as I read the articles around the web. Stories of families with kids who gave up everything with this day in mind are left with nothing.

yeah, I know some of you want to laugh at those people for being stupid (which I'm not arguing their intelligence on the matter), however it downright pisses me off that the lives these innocent kids are stuck with is bottom of the heap...

I think it really shows the truth about most "Christians" today. They are not grounded in anything, grab on to the latest fad and know little to nothing about the Bible or why they claim to be a Christian other than they believe in God.

Actually reading their Bible would have told them that this prediction was all nonsense. Without that knowledge, they really are like sheep.

It's true that it places some of these peoples lives in very bad places... which is unfortunate. I feel bad in way. But I'm not sure how to express how I feel about that situation. The parents willingly placed their family in this situation, based on the ravings of one man/a small group, who they strongly believed in... but it all turned out to be false to the surprise of very few. In my view it's irresponsibility...but I'm sure they see it differently.
