I considered posting this in the other docking topic recently but what I had in mind far too detracts from its subject so here this goes:
I don't know if I'm going to do it or not but some fighters in my universe lack a subspace drive to conserve weight and energy and rely on carriers.... and special devices to launch them into battle through subspace. Imagine something like this but with fighters instead of missiles

During the start of a mission you are docked to a disposable device that warps you and your wing into the area. For a few seconds the player cannot move and the device is moving rapidly. Then the wing is launched and the device self destructs.
At the end of the mission (whether it went good or bad) another device is warped in and the wing has to dock with it then it warps out completing the mission. Can the player ship actually dock to something, remain immobile, and be warped out?
Granted this idea isn't too vital to the overall scheme of things but it is something which I think will look very very nice in a campaign. If its possible, all the better

. If not, oh well I'll just slap subspace drives into everything
