Freespace open, download without the installer
Hi!

I just recently moved, and had to buy a new computer at my new place, I started to do the most important thing of all, and reinstall all the games I like to play now and then.

I started to install FS2, but I can´t play it on windows7, so I decided that I try it with FSopen (which is amazing, and I love all the fan mods+campaigns), but my problem is, I don´t have internet connection yet back home.

So my question is:

Is it possible to download FSopen from my workplace (or cybercafe), and maybe a few campaigns like fsport, derelict etc, and install it on my home pc somehow?

Any ideas and suggestions welcome.
Thanks in advance

Yes. There is always a manual method of download. Requires a bit of forum browsing to the items you want to download, and then either copying the d/l links to a txt file for a USB drive (that you then use to go to the download wherever you are) or browsing to them from the system you will be downloading on, and then saving it/them to said thumb-drive once it/they are downloaded.

The Installer is just one method for installation.

Re: Freespace open, download without the installer
All the Installer does is download the files anyways...  AFAIK, you can use the Installer, copy the FS2 dir that it "installed" to, and merge that with your retail FS2 dir.  That's what I'd try, IDK.  Worth a shot.
You can always backup your FS2 dir before you do it.
Right-click FS2 dir, hit "copy", make a new dir "backup of FS2", open it, right-click, and "Paste", it will copy the FS2 dir for you.
If anything goes wrong, re-name or delete the FS2 dir that you played with, and then move the copy out of "backup of FS2".
Easy as pie, if you understand what I just described.  If not, don't try it, you might mess something up.

Thanks for the answers. Especially jr2´s signature helped a lot.

FSOpen is running now smoothly, and I started the FSPort campaign already. :-D

I was just thinking, I play the game with a mouse, is there a way to be able to use the third+fourth+fifth mouse buttons? I couldn´t "Bind" them.
