You'd be wrong...so very wrong.

I did love it more when I first plaeyd it tough. Why not? It IS one of the best FS campaigns. Yet the more I hear people talking about it, the less I like it.
Hype backlash, Fan Dumb and all that jazz ... putting any custom camapign in the same boat as official [V] stuff rubs me the wrong way. And I'd like to say that I can ignore that, but...a mind works in mysterius ways...

It's a blindingly awesome, cinematic, engrossing, well told spectacular fanfic with well published assets and an engaging story which frankly beats the heck out of some of my favourites in the genre, but still a fanfic.

I don't think anyone intends to do that. Nuclear1 probably just meant the thread as 'FreeSpace Community Easter Eggs' or 'FreeSpace Open Easter Eggs'.

Oh, I don't think he intended to do that. But let's face it, it's sorta the impression one gets.

Had there been more easter eggs from others campaigns, and no [V] stuff I'd say nothing.
Then again, I'd be lying if I said that at lest on some subconcious level, part of my repulsion doesn't stem from the fact that it's BP...and we know how human psyche can be petty, even on a sub-concious level.

Long ago for Cleaning Crew I had a mission where you're sent to guard a derelict Typhon, which is actually bait to draw out a Shivan destroyer. You're ordered to leave the area after the destroyer jumps out, and told afterwards it lead to a successful tracking of the destroyer.

If you want to know how, open up the relevant mission file. There's a GTF Pegasus lurking where you can't see it from the mission start area (and far from the Typhon) behind a TC-TRI, waiting to follow the Shivans into subspace and track them. I don't think anyone's ever noticed it.
