Just a little modem problem
Hello Hlp users, I have a little problem, I have a modem a zyxel 645R a1 connected to a wireless router a dlink dir-280. I have all ready set up, but I dont know how to do a correct port forward, because I would like to play freespace 2 online.

Re: Just a little modem problem
Yep, it's one of those combo DSL modems/wannabe router things.

Full name is ZyXEL Prestige 645R-A1, correct?

A google for the model turned up the following page:
http://www.zultrax.com/forward-port/zyxel-prestige-645r-a1.htm

It's written for opening ports for that p2p app, but the principal and menus are the same, assuming that you don't have a massively different firmware (which would surprise me since most of those CPE things rarely get updated from the original shipping firmware once they are deployed).

Now, if you are needing to know what ports to forward, I'm sure someone in here will potint you in the right direction to find the info.

That's about all anyone can really tell you since no one knows your network setup.  For example, is your machine that you are trying to play on behind the ZyXEL or the DLink?  If so, are you setup as a double NAT (I hope not)?

Too many variables and unknowns.  You need to be a bit more detailed.   :)

Re: Just a little modem problem
Thanks for your answer, the fact is that when I enter the gateway adress number it got me to the zyzel prestige 645R-A1 page, I know how to do forwarding, my problem is more specific that when I put the static ip adress to my zyzel my dlink get screwerd

P.D: Both my zyzel and dlink have dynamic ip adress , I dont have the double nat thing :D

You dlink got 'screwed'?

Can you elaborate?  Exactly what did you do on the ZyXEL and what did the DLink do?  If you are not setup with a double NAT, the DLink shouldn't have anything to do with anything.
