I heard Goober is working on this; when it's released, will there be an announcement or release thread?  I'm kind of holding off on some work I'm trying to do on mirrors until that's done.  Or is it going to be a while?

  Show me where I asked for it to be sped up.  I just want to know if it's something I should wait for or not before releasing mirrors of FSO @ the gameupdates.org site.    And I don't want to miss it; maybe it will be a sort of quiet update, you know?

When I release it there will be no highlights or announcement threads of any kind.  It will be so secret that most people will remain ignorant and will continue blissfully using the old, clunky, outdated installer.

In fact, don't tell anyone, but the installer has already been finished for over a year.  It's necessary to solve another ARG to find the download link though.

Err... the new installer is going to replace the old one, right?  So if there was no announcement and you downloaded the "Installer", it would simply be the new version.  Did I assume incorrectly?
