Concert Tickets Get!
I just recently scored some front-row (well, just behind the front-row VIPs) tickets to see these guys in Charlotte, NC.

It's the first concert I'm going to that involves a favorite band (but not my first concert ever).

What should I do when I get there, HLP?  Party hard and strong?

Why the bloody hell would I do that?

I'd actually be okay with just that haircut, instead of the suit. :nervous:

Preventing loss of hearing, mainly.  I mean, you said you would be pretty close.

because it's incubus :P

seriously though, at least take them with you.  you'll still be able to hear fine.  one concert is not worth losing your ability to hear any more of them in the future.  you can just not use them if you really hate them that much.

what venue?  the downtown ampitheater?  get there early.  the show WILL start on time, because charlotte has a strict noise curfew.

Oh come on now, only Pardon Me and Circles are particularly hard rock songs! :P

Verizon Wireless ampitheater, wherever the hell that is.

Also, please understand (in reference to the earplugs thing), there's the standing room, gold-section rows (for people with speed-passes and so forth) and VIP section directly in front of us (totaling to 3 sections), we got as close to the front-and-center as we could.  And it's not even that close. :P

Suits are obligatory. After all, nothing suits you like a suit.

Picking up earplugs for 99 cents from wal-mart ain't gonna hurt, I promise. :)

Re: Concert Tickets Get!
I wish I had used the earplugs I brought at the concert I went to earlier this summer.  Even though we were fairly close for the sit-wherever earlier bands, what really slaughtered my ears was Papa Roach later on.  And I couldn't stand their music to boot.

Re: Concert Tickets Get!
I've found that earplugs hardly work when I go to concerts, but maybe it's because I used ones that were cheaper than 99 cents. :P

Re: Concert Tickets Get!
More than likely you also didn't use them properly.  I used to think earplugs didn't work at all for me, but then I discovered how to use them properly:

1.  Roll one tightly between two fingers.
2.  Hold open your ear with the opposite hand reaching over your head while you quickly stuff it in.
3.  Hold it in with your finger for at least 30 seconds, or however long it takes to fully expand.
4.  Repeat for the other ear.

They shouldn't be sticking out very far from the ear canal, and certainly not beyond the outer ear.  When used correctly, earplugs are suitable ear protection for firearm use; the quietest unsurpressed gunshot is 140 dB, while loud rock concerts are 120 dB (~100 times quieter).  Take them along to save your hearing.  Those big walls of speakers in front are so they can project the sound back to you almost at full blast; not being in the front row is usually actually little protection at a rock concert, though it does help.

or you can just go for the rubber screw or wafer type.  much easier to use, and much more effective it seems to me.  i use the wafer ones at work.
