K, so I was getting this popup occassionally and was pretty sure it was just here on Hard-Light.. but not 100%. Over the course of the next few weeks, I cleaned my cache, checked for the usual trojans and viruses. Finally I switched browsers and computers. I definitely got the popup again and I only get it here, when I click to go back to the main forums pages.

I'm still not ruling out something on my end completely.. but evidence seems to suggest...

I got it on Chrome, Firefox, IE and on two completely different computers... this is super odd...

Which shady Russian porn sites have you visited on both computers? That ought to narrow it down.

Seriously though, this seems to be confined to you alone. Which suggests that the problem isn't on HLP. Can't think what the problem could be though.

Anyhow, a quick google reveals that mjnmixael is not alone in his "joys" of the misterious popup, but i havent seen any solutions, other than simply blocking the site in your "hosts" file.

I don't know why I'm getting it.. but it dawned on my why I only see it on this site...

I have adblock disabled on HLP! DUH. Is there an address I can use to specifically allow the adbanner here? That way I can use that filter to allow HLP ads, but still block any other stuff, rather than shutting Adblock off complete on hard-light.net.

These guys are complaining about the same thing.  They figure that the problem it is adsense itself.

If/when you have it happen again, open the adsense complaint form in a new tab and fill out the form.  Don't close the popup or the page that generated the popup until you have filled in the form.  Select "This ad appears to violate AdWords policies in other ways" for your type of feedback and type in the box that it appears to be generating popups.

On another note, I have my ad block disabled for HLP and I have noscript disabled on the domains that HLP uses (and anything that it pulls in (including the ad networks)), but I still seem to not get about 30% of the ads (it is just a blank bar).
