Can't be right, the VSD has 140 turrets. the ISD has more

ok only 65 turrets but its enough i cant be bother to do the rest - rapidly losing interest - having to many problems lower the poly count and having ti still work in fs2

ok to give myself a break from the isd i did the tie interceptor - the windows need abit of work- i made the spars to dark so you can barely see and the panels shouldn't be striped like that - supposed to be all over like the bits with more grey - well nevermind

Starwing, an SSD is 8 kilometers long.  An ISD has around 120 turrets

apparently people went and looked at the models at ILM and calculated the isd is 17km long or somthign around that

Yes, exactly. This 8 km value is rubbish, maybe official, but rubbish. If you look at the scenes in The Empire Strike Back and Return of the Jedi where ISDs fly past the Executor you will see that the SSD is MUCH large then 4-5 times the size of an ISD. It's about 11 times as long, making a length of 1.6km *11= 17.6km.

I heard that inly the Excecutor was 17.6km long.  The others are 8km

a SSD is a SSD whatever it's designated. when the luke's crew flies next to the executor in return of the jedi, Solo says that there's a lot of command ships like this one throughout the empire, so I guess this one is not bigger than the others, or lese he wouldn't say that...

I'm not so sure about that 8km ISD... Remember when the Millenium falcon attaches itself to the back of the command tower of an ISD in Empire Strikes back? It takes up a fairly significant proportion of the back of the tower structure. If an ISD were 8km long then that tower would be at LEAST 500m high, and the falcon would be at least 250m long. From what I've seen of the falcon, its definately not THAT big.

an ISD (Imperator- class Star Destroyer) is 1.6 km long, the SSD (Super Star Destroyer in 17.6km)

ahh..... That was just a cuser and I know how longe they both are.

The ISD is 1,600 meters long and the SSD is 8,000 meters long.

17.6 kilometers... Just look at the cover of the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Balance of Power cd and then tell me this ship is 8 kilometers long...

go watch the films - ins sw:rotj there this shot from the shuttle and you see the ssd hanging in space infront of the death star - then yes what that spec below its bow???? yup that tiny little thing thats barelya  fraction of the ssd'd lenth is and ISD - people have mesured the ssd and isd models -if the ssd is 8km long then the isd is only maybe 650 meters long and from teh opening scenes in tehf ilms can you believe that an isd is that small?????????

and no beam cannons on the isd  just turbo lasers although i'm sure somone will change that the second its released
