on I-War 2 someone has made a mod to where users can import their own music into the game.  Listining to Metallica while youre wasting the Lucifer, or Techno bands while fragging the endless waves of shivan fighters...is there a way to where we could possibly do this?

This is a mod, not a source change.  You can do it now, AFAIK, so long as they're .WAV files.  Look at music.tbl and hack away.

Pretty much... but you need to fix it so you dont get victory/defeat music, arrival music, objective music, etc

Thats a major problem when trying to create a good soundtrack in music.tbl

Open up Winamp, select the music you want, get it started, then open fs2.  It'll say something like "unable to create direct sound object, proceed with audio disabled", you click ok, play freespace and the music keeps going.

As for suggestions about the source, please keep them all in one thread, if everyone with a suggestion posted a new thread, this place would be flooded with suggestion threads.

I don't know about that, the suggestions thread is really long...I prefer reading multiple threads to one very gigantic one :p

It doesnt matter that its long, its all in one place.  Having more threads means more to check up on.

Really long threads can make finding particular posts (including new posts) a bit harder. That "go to first new post" link doesn't always go to the first post you haven't read. On the other hand, posting in an established thread here is likely to get quicker responses then posting a new thread. (E-Mail notification you know.)
