Hi, thought I'd just make this topic to show off what I'm working on at the moment.  I work very sporadically in fast bursts, so you might see no activity for some time, and a sudden jump of posts another time.

These models are all for the TC that I'm working on, as such, they probably are significantly OP based on FS2 standards.

Anyways, to start, (half of) the Io Rail Corvette (Cruiser in FS standards):

And the reference shot:

I use this really obscure 3d program called Art of Illusion for my initial geometry, which is why you don't see any fancy stuff like edgesplit and mirror.   :)

Ooh nice. If the Arpyia (It's a Frigate, I know) was a Second-Generation Deimos this would make a good Third-Generation ship.

  • One does not simply ALT-J into Mordor.
Looks like the Assault Rifle from Vanquish.

Looks like some Halo ship, but still nice.

Even turrets need love!

Nice turrets.
"Ka-BOOOOOOOOM!!!!"
"Uh, Sir we can hear the explosion."
"No you can't, there is no air in space. Sound can't travel through a vacuum!"

Looks good, anti-capital blob or railgun-type turret?

Somewhere in between.  Definitely anti-capital, uses plasma, faster than a blob, but much less range or speed than a railgun.

Whoops, looks like I've been neglecting this thread...

Anyhow, while the Io continues to be textured, I started on another light capital ship:

The RFr Arcus, an Alien pocket carrier/railgun frigate.
