Radioactive rainouts from Fukushima to continue for over a year
An example of a true danger and problem we're facing these days is the continuing disaster at Fukushima that continues to become worse by what to me now seems to be more than criminal incompetence in how to handle the situation, irradiating its own citizens and spreading all the way till Canada and the west coast of the USA.

I quote:

"Nuclear expert Arnie Gundersen says in a new interview that the Japanese are burning radioactive materials. The radioactivity originated from Fukushima, but various prefectures are burning radioactive materials in their terroritories.

Gundersen says that this radioactivity ends up not only in neighboring prefectures, but in Hawaii, British Columbia, Oregon, Washington and California.

He notes that radioactive rain-outs were documented recently in British Columbia and Oklahoma with geiger counters.
Gundersen is working with scientists who will publish a paper in the near future definitively debunking Canadian and American health officials' claims that only harmless levels of radiation are being released.

Gundersen has a high-level contact in the State Department who says that the U.S. government has decided - within various agencies, including the State Department, FDA, and other agencies - to downplay the dangers from Fukushima. Because of this policy decision, the government is not really testing for radiation.

Gundersen says that well see another year of radioactive rain-outs, as the Japanese continue to burn radioactive materials."

There's loads more sources from the link to check. His claim seems very possible because of the information that's been coming out lately, as even Bloomberg reported the highest level of radiation so far from Fukushima, this month:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-08-01/tepco-says-highest-radiation-yet-is-detected-at-fukushima-dai-ichi.html

Here's to seeing what the scientific community can do to assist, and what other organizations and perhaps governments can do to help.

15,000 people die in Earthquake - "Aw. That sucks."

0 people die from radiation - "HOLY ****, RADIATION!! JESUS CHRIST, WHAT THE ****ING **** ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW MAN WE'RE SCREWED, MAN, SCREWED!!"

Re: Radioactive rainouts from Fukushima to continue for over a year
Difference between a earthquake and a nuclear disaster (remember more than a million people died directly because of Chernobyl, and many others sickened) is that the nuclear disaster didnt have to happen, or at least didnt have to become as bad as it did.

i know seriously, radiation isnt really that deadly unless your snorting uranium powder or swimming in the coolant, or of course, you get nuked, or happen to be a soviet russian.

Re: Radioactive rainouts from Fukushima to continue for over a year
Have you tried researching it for yourself (before making a judgment)?
I have; I just don't trust every unreliable and/or biased source I find.

Re: Radioactive rainouts from Fukushima to continue for over a year
I use an as diversed amount of sourced I can, if it gets picked up widely by the whole political spectrum it tends to have more merit than say, something from the dark corners of the web. Now if every source i found contradicts another i'd put a lot more question marks and distrust in them. It's just that some sources like Fox sometimes got good pieces and other times they're just as horrible as they were under Bush. It mucks up things at times, but it helps to focus on the information rather than the deliverer/reporter of the information.

Yeah because as we all know Above Top Secret is a really reliable information source.....

Couldn't have said it any better myself, great job Snail.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Are you High Max or just trolling?

Two of your links clearly have vested interests and one is almost definitely full of crazy from the domains alone.

Re: Radioactive rainouts from Fukushima to continue for over a year
As I mentioned, it's better to judge the information itself rather than the source. There are many more sources than just the five I mentioned, and if a site like Above Top Secret would say '1 plus 1 equals 2' doesn't mean it's not true. Still it's just one of the sources, and it doesnt mean I immediately completely agree with all, or even any, of the other content they provide.

Have you tried not pulling numbers out of your arse?

Even taking for granted the findings of his paranoid sources, which really just amount to one researcher and one study being reported several times, this number of people didn't die "directly" coz chernobyl. At the most, indirectly. And that's the problem of course. The author just makes statistics up and comes with a round and nice number. A million. Or almost. Enough to make everyone scared right?

Well he was right about that one. People are scared about nukes. And they have to thank these pricks for their fears.

Oh for ****'s sake!

You really have to stop believing every single thing you read! Since this is your thread and you haven't bothered to continue to stick to facts with any semblance to the truth I'm locking it.
