Re: What's the most badass thing you've ever seen in a cartoon?
Evangelion; Asuka vs The Eva Series
Shinji vs The Fourteenth Angel (Zereul, in the original anime).

I see your battles, and raise you any battle of the Evangelion Rebuild. Particularly, Mari in Unit 2 unleashing 'The Beast'. Plus, Unit 0 brandishing a nuclear missile as a melee weapon. God, I love these movies.

Alas, no videos to be found. Those moments are ingeniously badass.

Cartoon intro sequences during the 90's had some real badass moments. I've always had a soft spot for the intro to the Iron Man saturday morning cartoon, namely because it depicts Tony Stark constructing the Iron Man suit with merely a hammer and anvil. The Swat Kats had an awesome one, with a modified F-14 fighting a dinosaur to the strains of righteous power-metal. I ****ing love how insane the Megas XLR intro is, not to mention the show itself. Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars series has its detractors, but no one can deny Mace Windu is a bad mother ****er after he takes out an army of battle droids with his bare hands. Speaking of Genndy, Samurai Jack has innumerable moments of badass, the greatest of which is probably the loose adaptation of Frank Miller's 300 in Jack and the Spartans. One of the most badass animated things i've ever seen belongs to the Japanese opening for the X-Men Animated Series. While the regular intro is already pretty badass, with one of the coolest theme-songs of the 90's, the Japanese intro will literally explode your socks. For ****'s sake, it makes Jubilee look badass!

But, without a doubt, the most badass moment belongs unquestionably to the intro for the greatest cartoon ever made.

Edit: Also, the death of the Joker.

About 98% of FLCL.

Actually I take that back and simply let it be every time something was hit with a guitar in FLCL.

...and not one mention of the Thundercats.  For shame, all of you.  (Return to Thundera is the most memorable for me).

More shame on me for never having watched Thundercats.

Even more shame one me for learning about Thundercats through none other than Robot Chicken.

Recently I have been re-watching a show that was pretty badass when I was about 7: 80s nostalgia trip.

How about a show that so badass that it makes me watch the same recycled stock animation every episode: G a o G a i G a r

How about a Magical girl with BFRed class magic: Nanoha
Find me as Hojo Norem elsewhere...

NICE!

I wish I could find DVDs of that show. Very first episode I saw was the one making fun of Halo with its 'library ringworld'.

Also 64-hit combo on a super battle droid? And it's too bad the clones aren't as badass in the movies, where they're on screen en masse for cannon fodder.

To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios
I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Anything and everything to do with Samurai Pizza Cats (especially the intro).

The battle between Chrona and Maka in Soul Eater, when she uses the 'Black Blood' and goes all schizo.

Shinji's battle against Zeruel in Rebuild of evangelion, where he finally decides to open console and use 'impulse101' and 'god mode'.

And the feature length episode of Dexter's laboratory, which has the ring from the intro of 'Syndicate', time travel and giant robots.

Re: What's the most badass thing you've ever seen in a cartoon?
Purely in terms of western cartoons: Aang's battle against Ozai in The Last Airbender.

*avatar state voice* "Fire Lord Ozai, you and your forefathers have devastated this world, and now you shall pay the ultimate price!"

(I'd put a video of it, but there's absolutely none of them on Youtube without music playing over the dialogue.)

And if we include anime... no, there's too much. Cannot narrow it down.

I still think Jungle Burger has all of that beat
from imdb
"Shame, the ape man of the jungle, is aghast when his woman, June, is kidnapped by a gang of giant penises. They take her to their queen, Bazunga, a bald woman with fourteen breasts. After tangling with a gang of great white hunters, a marauding lion and the Molar Men, Shame sets off to rescue her with only his faithful friend Flicka at his side. He heads for that darkest of areas ..... Bush Country!"

Darkwarrior Duck remains entrenched in memory! Darkwing Duck's training sequence here (after 6:43) will be remembered as well.

EDIT: Oh, and this ED-209 spoof was quite badass when I first saw it. Starts at 7:50.

So, Rainbow Dash destroyed a barn with a sonic rainboom on the new episode about an hour ago.  This now has my vote.

While also very awesome, she was performing chiropractice, not hand to hand whatever-you-call-it combat.

Sonic Rainbomb still gets my vote.

Transformation sequence from "Panty & Garterbelt with Stocking".
If that's not badass, then this world holds nothing for me any more.

Every single scene where Kamina appears.

Seriously, it's like testosterone poisoning except it goes so far beyond, it becomes badass.
