Sometimes friends can equal "time x money."

To add a little anecdote to MP-Ryan's post (All of which is completely true) - My girlfriend and I (We've been together over 3 years now) never had a 'date' before we started going out, as we were just best friends who rather naturally (and a sickeningly sweet way, my friends tell me) just started a relationship.

I've had that kind of relationship before. When it ended we still had to deal with seeing each other because we were in the same class. I think I went almost half a year without saying 1 word to her.
Not that relationships like this don't ever work out. Just wanted to say, you gotta be careful if you find yourself in something like my position.

It won't be a huge problem if it does turn out that way. We started our relationship just as I left school to go to university, whilst she went to a technical college for two years, and then went to a different, nearby university and is currently only in her second year, whilst I'm doing my thesis/in my final year. It'll suck, because she's my best friend as well as my girlfriend, but I won't have to see her if I/we don't want to.

when i was about 20 or so i was all for equal rights and crap like that. but after a decade of failed relationships and senseless debauchery i have decided to hate them moar. gives a new meaning to take your girlfriend out clubbing.

Hell, I've never so much as found anyone I was interested in, much less been involved in any sort of relationship, and I'm not nearly that desperate. Maybe the one bright side of the stuff I've been working through is that it's given me the ability to subsist perfectly well by myself when I choose/have to.  Not that I want things to stay this way indefinitely, but at least I'm not pining over something I don't have at the moment.

Even if I accept that, the premiss that that money is the root of all evil is flat out wrong. The saying is that "Love of money is the root of all evil."

Seriously guys I have done major research on this subject and I have determined that girls = - k * dMoney/dt where k = 4.3753 * 10^13 vagina*seconds/USD (+/- 0.0002 * 10^13 vagina*seconds/USD). I have yet to publish my results but I expect that any reputable research institution will be able to reproduce my findings with ease.
