I heard about Koreans getting passed through China, but nothing about Japanese :|

hell Kim Jong Il had some well known celebrity kidnapped so that they would star in some sort of NK propaganda/movie. I'm not exadurating when I say the man was the real world counterpart to a silver age comic book supervillian.
