Question: How to make Freespace 2 UI and Icons

As the Subject says, is there any tutorial out there I could go by to make Freespace 2 UI and/or briefing icons? The only UI I can make is the main menu and I just simply used Blue Planet's menu UI as a template. Can anyone help?

Search for Contemplates (Why isn't this stickied anywhere?) for the UI. Briefing icons require a little more work. Open up a retail one to see what the frames should look like, then I recommend using my ANI Toolkit on the Tools board to make the ANI because it takes care of the palette automatically.

A question about Contemplates -- what does it do with the "material" image?  Is that used as a button texture or something?
