I still can't get my head around this one, how did they manage to keep everything close to the ice?

It's actually filmed at the town where I spent three years in college.
Buoyancy. Floating things (like air, and air-filled balance vests) generate hydrostatic lift and thus push the divers up toward the ice. Same with the air in the buckets and the (unbelievably) wheelbarrow, which started to sink quite fast after the air was poured off it.
Kudos for not getting disoriented and being able to walk like that on the underside of the ice.
I know, but still, I didn't expect them to be able to walk on the ice, I thought it would look more like walking on the moon. Additionally, the sleigh seems to be in contact with the ice all the time as well. I wonder how many takes did it require to shoot this film.
