Esper.net is currently the target of a DDoS attack (apparently, somebody doesn't like mcbans).
If I'm just aching this can't go on

I'm confused, what does MCBans have to do with EsperNet?  Especially since MCBans seems to be up and running just fine right now, and IRC is still down.

Also, in the meantime, we could all just congregate on freenode, same channel names.

MCBans had (or have?) a channel on esper, which apparently was the real target. Well, it and the other minecraft-related channels.

Anyway, apocalypse.esper.net is up and running, so you can directly connect to that one.

Aperture is down too, even though it was up.  Guess they're really getting hammered on all fronts now.

Well, there are IRC links under HLP at the top of every forum page. And then there are IRC links in chief1983 and The E's signatures...

As far as I can tell, chaos.esper.net is still down. Apocalypse is up though.

Actually, no, you are not. :)

My ISP doesn't offer IPv6, and the trials for my class of service are who-knows-how-long-away.  I went the route of signing up for a tunnel with Hurricane Electric.  Add in m0n0wall for the IPv6 side of my local network, and I'm live with a dual stack network.  Is it perfect?  No, but it works and I can see the dancing turtle at kame.net.
