can weapon trails both primary and secondary be .eff animated?

I've seen a few primaries with trails. If trails for both primary and secondary weapons are the same I don't see why it wouldn't work.

He didn't ask whether you can have trails on primaries, he asked whether trails regardless of which kind of weapon they're on can use effect animations in the .eff format.

No. You cannot have animated .eff's for weapon trails, be it primary or secondary.

You can have animated .eff particles, but that's about it.
