There is a topic somewhere that discusses exactly this but for the life of me I just can't seem to find it. Anyway, I want to know how to turn off reflections for ships since most capships in the game look like mirrors for some odd reason. Something to do with alpha_env right? I've read it before and can't find where th hell it's at.

fix ur alpha channels in the textures so they aren't all white
don't turn it off.

Wait, which ships look like mirrors? Any from FSUP, or your custom ones?

It's not so simple. If he means ships from FSU, then he has a problem with Mediavps. Which means it's either even easier than fixing the textures or needs to be adressed on Medivaps level.
That, or he messed up his launcher settings.

Probably me that messed up my settings. I mean ships from FSU of course, I don't have any custom ships of my own. I'd be happy just turning alpha off except I don't know how.

There are command line flags that make things more or less shiny.
