Well, this is probably a good point to shift the conversation back, if someone would like to do that.

Re: Comcast Blatantly Ignoring Net Neutrality
The reason I brought up Apple is not to talk about the quality of their products or to compare Mac to Windows. Instead it was to give an example of a very popular trend that focuses users on not understanding their machine/machine/device whatever and just using it and hoping it doesn't break, cause if it does.. they are told to just buy a new one. This is somewhat relevant to the thread in that our tech illiterate politicians and company runners are exactly the kind of person Apple (and others) target.

So never needing to understand anything about tech or how it actually works has very simply lead to a society where this Comcast (or SOPA.. dear lord you remember Rep. Smith's quotes!) stuff occurs.

Your original hypothesis failed to account for one important variable:  The thread was posted in HLP's Gen Disc.

Ok, so what does "managed services" actually mean?

Quote
The Xbox 360 provides a number of video services to compete for customer dollars, yet only one service is not counted against the data cap—the one provided by Comcast.

Wait, what? Did she say that backwards?

Comcast also denies that its new app raises network neutrality concerns.

they destroyed the internet some time ago. i know its only a matter of time before i move into the bush, and build me a computer to my own specs entirely out of 7400 series logic gates, and never network it to anything. it will run off a genny powered by baby seal oil. trespassers will be impaled.
I can no longer sit back and allow communist infiltration, communist indoctrination, communist subversion, and the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
